The town looks on the Garda Lake and offers to the tourist a varies offer of high quality facilities: an equipped port, the congress center and the wide and beautiful beaches.
Padenghe is the productive area of the more important D.O.C. of the province of Brescia, the "Classic Garda".
The Medieval Castle original structure remained unchanged: solid walls of big stones and three towers on the North West side. Above the entrance, which still has traces of the drawbridge loopholes and of a pedestrian gangway, there is the main tower, squared and with no battlements. The lord of the castle and the garrison were living at the little castle, which was built later inside the walls.
Villa Barbieri, built at the end of 1700 near the church, was recently bought and became the city hall.
Very interesting are also the little Church of Saint Emiliano, old romanic parish church and the Parish of Saint Mary built in 1682 where you can admire paintings by Zenone Veronese, Francesco Paglia, Zadei and sculptures by Callegari and Simoni.
It is a wonderful walk the one from Padenghe to the Castle of Drugolo. At Spring, between April and June, is the best time to admire the underwood which is a show of blossoming flowers. In Autumn you will appreciate the suggestive colors of the wood leaves. It is a a very easy walk for anybody which alternates pieces of unsurfaced road to asphalt and underwood paths; we suggest you to wear comfortable shoes.
Under the Castle of Padenghe there is a little stall in a great position. It gives the possibility to eat cold plates of local salami, ham, cheese and salads accompanied by the local red wine.
Padenghe is a plunge in the past and in the nature but also in the largest holiday life of the greatest lake in Italy.
Gardaland, the famous water park is only 30 minutes away and there you can spend great days of entertainment. Very near are also the beautiful cities of Sirmione or Desenzano.
The Lake of Garda is waiting for you to introduce you to an unforgettable Italian Holiday!
